Terms and conditions for Barge Stern

1. The week charter price for 2012 is 5870 Euros

2. You book the entire boat (Stern). No other bookings will be taken for the period of your cruise.

3. The Charter of Stern commences Sundays at 2:00 pm and ends at 10: 00am the following Saturday.

4. Reservations require a deposit of 30% of the charter price. Balance of payment is due 90 days prior to charter. The deposit is non refundable. If a charter is cancelled within 90 days of the commencement of the charter, a refund of the 70% will only be made if the space is re-sold.

5 In the unlikely event that Barge Stern cannot be made available for dates reserved for the cruise, or the cruise is cancelled by the owners for circumstances beyond their control, all sums received shall be returned fully and promptly to guests and the guests shall have no further claim against the owners. Sums will be prorated if only a portion of the trip is cancelled . There will be no refunds for days missed by guests on the cruise.

6. For the charter we provide one guest cabin (European King size double bed) with en-suite bathroom including bed linen, towels, bathrobes and hairdryer.

7. Breakfast and lunches are included on all days together with soft drinks and local wines. Also included are a welcome/farewell dinner served on board. Four dinners at local selected restaurants are also included in the price but on these occasions wines and other alcoholic beverages are at guests expenses.

8. We provide use of the ship's bicycles, library, satellite TV, DVD and music centre . Internet available where provided by our ISP.

9. Excursions including the transportation, the guide and entrance fees are included in the charter price.

10. Air or ground transportation to and from the boat are not included in the charter price however we will contact you prior to arrival and arrange to pick you up from the Never or Briare train station.

11. Unforeseen circumstances such as weather, canal closures and maintenance may necessitate alterations to our cruise route. Such changes are rare but we reserve the right to alter a route if circumstances dictate.

12. Insurance against cancellation , personal accident or loss of personal belongings is not included in the charter price and we strongly advise guests to obtain travel insurance to cover the above events. The owners of Barge Stern want to provide a safe and carefree cruise for our guests, and we will manage and operate Barge Stern accordingly. Nevertheless, by booking a cruise on Barge Stern, guests recognize and acknowledge the existence of hazards natural to travel by boat or vehicle on related excursions, such as, but not limited to, slipping, falling, tripping, and/or injuries resulting from collision. Moderate level changes, steps and uneven ground surfaces are a normal part of rural barge cruising. The barge and its owners assume no responsibility or liability for a guest's illness, injury, death or loss or damage of personal property while aboard the barge, its vehicles, or its bicycles, however caused.

13. For the safety and comfort of all, smoking is not allowed within the accommodation of Barge Stern.

14. We regret that we cannot carry guests under 18 years of age unless accompanied by a parent. Barge Stern is not suitable for infants or small children. Pets cannot be carried on the barge.

15. Payment of a deposit to secure the charter of Barge Stern constitutes acceptance of these booking conditions by you.
