As Captain on your own boat, you can now cruise on one of France's most pleasant rivers. At your own pace you will discover an incredible variety of landscape as you cruise along: coloured cliffs with hundreds of birds’ nest, picturesque villages, magnificent castles (Mercues Château,...), wooded hills, caves, burial chambers and middle-age monuments. The Lot river is also famous for its gastronomy thanks to the wine from the Cahors region, the Foie-gras and “confits” (preserved-fowls). Following important works made in july 2007, ordered by the General Council of the Lot, on the locks of Grégols, St martin-Labouval and Genevières, the Lot river offers more 10 kilometers of upstream navigation from St Cirq Lapopie to Larnagol.
Cahors
At an equal distance from the ocean and the Mediterranean, Cahors is a stone city set on a plateau. A veritable capital of taste, Cahors offers you many gastronomic delights (truffle, liver of goose, rocamadour … ) and famous wines ( wine of Cahors, wines of the slopes of Quercy … ), most of which you can find in the particularly famous market of the city. As well as enjoying the local delicacies you can discover the Cahors, the ancient city part, the medieval city part and visit the Valentré Bridge. This bridge is the city symbol and one of the most beautiful and best preserved Eureopen medieval bridges. It is classified as a World Heritage monument by the UNESCO.
To see : the Valentré bridge, the medieval city, the museum of Resistance, the fountain of the Carthusian, the St Etienne’s cathedral.
To taste : the wine of Cahors, the rocamadour (goat’s cheese), the croustillot (Lot bread), le foie gras poêlé, the “brouillade” with truffles.
To know : Along this route there are 14 manual locks without a lockkeeper.
Most Important : the village of St Cirq Lapopie.

Crossing 5 natural areas : Gévaudan, Rouergue, haute Auvergne, Quercy and the Agenais; theLlot river is navigable for 70km and offers you peace and the opportunity to dwadle along. It is without doubt one of the most beautiful navigable regions of France. You can cross the valley of the Lot and its vineyards, who are well-known; here you can discover the castles ands the villages while going with the current.

In the heart of the vineyard of Cahors
It is in the heart of the vineyard of Cahors, in the Lot Valley, where you will find the small town of Luzech and its medieval vesitges. In this landscape of rivers and plateaus, you will appreciate the calm and benefit fully from nature, by following for example, the botanical nature trail around the Lot Valley.
Given the gartronomic reputation of the Lot Valley, you would find it hard to resist tasting some of the delights of the area such as the fois gras, the duck marget, the wine of Cahors and many others! If you follow the trails, you are sure to come across one of the country's wine growers who will hoefully be happy to explain all the subtlety of his wines.
To see : archaeological museum, ammonites museum, flower market.
To taste : Magret of duck, lamb of Quercy, cabécou (small goat's cheese), pastis (cake), wines of Cahors.

Penne d’Agenais - city of the craft industry
Penne d’Agenais is a small, fortified, medieval (13th century) village of little more than 2000 inhabitants. The many vestiges present at Penne will give you an idea of the history of the city - the doors of the old wall, the old merchants' residences, the royal prisons, the 2 remaining chapels of the 13th century church, the ruins of Roy's castle...
You can also enjoy the countryside by participating in one of the many walks offered by the Tourist Office. Here you can discover the Penne Lake, the limestone plateaus and enjoy an amazing view of the Lot Valley.
However, Penne d’Agenais is overall a town of artists and craftsmen. Art galleries can be found on every corner and they are just waiting for you to explore them and admire the fabulous works! You can find decorative paintings, 'trompe d'oeil', wod sculptures, exotic glasswares, weavings, pottery, leather goods and more.
To see : art galleries of Penne, vestiges and the medieval borough, the medieval village of Frespech, the walk around the plate St Michel.
To taste : foie gras stove, prunes of Agen, wines of the valley of the Lot, the palanchou (cheese of tradition of cow's milk).
