The canal du Midi was born with the idea of linking the Atlantic to the Mediterrannean see. Pierre Paul Riquet is the creator. The canal du Midi is listed as world heritage.

Colombiers
Charming little village, Colombiers is situated in the big forebay ending with an exceptional work: the magnificent scale of seven locks of Fonserannes. Guaranteed show! Discover the Oppidum d'Enserune, gallo roman place and the tunnel of Malpas.

Béziers
After passing through the Locks of Fonserannes, pass the Canal Bridge to reach the marina from Béziers. Town rich in history : visit the Cathedral Saint Nazaire which dominate the city, the Church St Aphrodise, the Museum of Fine Arts,the Museum du Bitterois.

Narbonne
After passing the lock of Narbonne, you will pass under the Bridge of the Marchands, the only one in France who support houses. To be visit absolutely: the magnificent palace of the Archevêques and its museum of Art and History. The never finished cathedral Saint- Just and the basilica Saint- Paul-Serge are very touristic attractions.

Le Somail
You can't miss this stop for its culture and sight-seeing. Visit the amazing hat museum and the largest ancient book library in France..

Homps
Ancient commercial port where were loaded Minervois and Corbières wine barrels in direction of Bordeaux. Many producers will welcome you with pleasure in their vineyards. Many courses are organized in the vineyards.

Carcassonne
Have a good time when you visit the fortified town which was restored by Viollet- Le- Duc. During your walk in the narrow streets, you will discover stalls with medieval banners. In summer time, the city is animated by many festivals.

Castelnaudary
Have a walk in the shade of the plane trees and visit this very touristic city : The Mill of Cugarel, the Collegiate St Michel … Do not leave without tasting its famous Cassoulet .

Etang de Thau
Important shellfish growing area. You'll be welcome in its little ports for a shellfish tasting with a glass of « Picpoul ».

Carnon
Lively seaside town, Carnon, due to its marina and its beaches, has combined the sea attraction and the traditions of the small Camargue, with its exceptional fauna and flora.
Break for a swimm : between Carnon and Palavas, two beautiful beaches protected by dunes : "le Grand Travers" and "le Petit Travers".
