A Typical 7 day Cruise aboard

This is a sample cruise of one week. Our route takes us through the Loire* region of France with its rolling hills and stone built villages. This is also the region of great wines and in particular the white wines of Sancerre and Pouilly.
	1st Day 15 h. The meeting point is at Nevers train station (2 hours from Paris) and transfer to the barge is made with our private minibus. After arrival on board and settling into your cabins, the Captain will propose a welcome drink. This afternoon we recommend a visit of close by Nevers and its historical center with its Ducal Palace and Cathedral. Return on board, aperitifs and candle-lit dinner near the pool. 2nd day Morning: departure to the canal-bridge Le Guétin over the Allier River. Lunch aboard. Afternoon visit to Apremont, a medieval village with an fortified Castle and its spectacular flowering gardens. Arrive at Marseilles les Aubigny. Dinner aboard.
3rd day Marseilles-les-Aubigny (old commercial river port) to Herry. Lunch aboard. Visit of Bourges and its world famous cathedral. Dinner ashore at "la Ferme des Barraux", (Foie gras specialities). 4th day Departure for Ménétréol sous Sancerre. Lunch aboard. Afternoon : Sancerre and Pouilly, visit of the cities and their renowned vineyards for some wine tasting. Return to the barge at Belleville sur Loire, dinner ashore.
	5th day Sancerre to Belleville sur Loire. Lunch aboard, visit of Château de Saint Fargeau the afternoon, diner ashore. 6th day We cruise to the world famous canal-bridge of Briare built by Gustave Eiffel. Full day navigation with lunch aboard. Stop and walk over the bridge and its very pretty view over the Loire.
7th day Morning : Gien, city of the famous porcelain, the red brick Chateau (hunting museum), etc. Lunch aboard and drop off to the Briare train station. End of the cruise. This route is given as sample cruise and can naturally be changed to be more adapted to different cultural events : exhibitions, fairs, festivals etc..
