Terms and conditions

The ‘ Saint Antonius’ is not booked and no contract shall exist until the Charterers have signed and completed the booking form and paid a 35% deposit to the Barge Operators Agent and a confirmation of booking has been issued by them.

Balance of charge is due no less than 8 weeks prior to departure. No reminder shall be issued. If payment is not received within this period the Charterers may loose their booking and forfeit their deposit.

If the Charterers are making a booking within the 8 week period prior to departure the total amount must be paid in full at the time of booking to the Barge Operators Agent.

To cancel a booking the Charterers should notify the Barge Operators Agent in writing.
If the cancellation is received 8 weeks prior to departure, the Charterers will be liable to 10% of the total hire fee and all other fees will be refunded.
     If  the cancellation is received between 8 and 6 weeks prior to departure, the Charterers will forfeit their deposit.
     If the cancellation is received less than 6 weeks prior to departure, the Charterers will be liable to the total hire fee.

All cruise routes and places of embarkation are subject to change without notice. Some waterways  may be subject to occasional closures. In the unlikely event of this occurring, The Charterers will continue to be accommodated on the barge. Such grounds will not be considered as grounds for cancellation or repayment of the hire fees.

In the unlikely event of sickness or unavailability of the crew the captain will attempt to provide another crew, in the unfortunate eventuality of this not being possible the cruise will be postponed  or if  the Charterer prefers all funds will be refunded and the charterer will have no further claim on the Barge Operators or their agent.

The Barge Operators and their Agent are not responsible for the insurance of Charterers personal belongings and accept no responsibility in the event of loss or damage to Charterers belongings. The Charters are insured while on the barge only in the event of the captain being at fault. The Charterers are insured third party only while using the bicycles. The Charterers are recommended to take out an insurance policy to cover such eventualities.

The Charterers are responsible for any damage they may cause through their or their fellow charterers actions to the ship its inventory or the crew.

The captain of the barge reserves the right to refuse to retain or accept as a member of the party any person.

 In the event of a break down of the barge or a vehicle the captain will do his uttermost to repair and continue the cruise. In the unfortunate eventuality of such  an occurrence the Charterer shall have no claim against the Barge Operators or their Agent.

The Saint Antonius is a no smoking barge and accepts no pets.

The Charterers are strongly recommended to take out their own travel insurance policy.

The law applicable to this contract is French Law.
