| 'Bed and Breakfast' may be a misnomer for these owner-operated vessels
where the quality of service and comfort is very high. The hotel barges are staffed by very friendly and highly professional crews. The level of service on board is comparable to a well staffed small country hotel. On these 'Bed and Breakfast' barges, the owners will be your crew, and they will make every effort to make your stay a happy one. The owners will also have been involved in the design and fitting-out of the barge, and have a complete knowledge of all the technical systems involved as well as the boat-handling skills to take you through the locks. |
The service is much more personal
and your hosts will be very knowledgable guides to the region, making your
stay as comfortable as possible. They will adapt the cruise and the visits ashore to your tastes and interests, moods and of course the day's weather. They are experienced hosts who understand the subtle line between service and your own privacy. Overhead is usually somewhat lower than on the hotel barges and this is reflected in the prices. This is an excellent way to discover the canals in complete comfort. Sit back and relax for a week and let your hosts show you France as you have never seen it before. You can eat, sleep, talk, read.....and travel at the same time! |
