Do I get any training?
You are given personal tuition on your boat - a good time to ask all the questions! Additionally on arrival you view our instructional video.

What clothes should I bring?
Everyone should have rope soled or non-slip shoes for safety on slippery decks. Bring sunglasses to protect against reflected light from the water. It's sensible to bring some light wet-gear - especially in Ireland.

Can I bring electrical equipment?
There are 220v shaving sockets and a 12v car lighter socket on most boats suitable for mobile phones.

How far can I travel in a day?
We suggest that 4 to 5 hours cruising per day is enough for most of you. After all it is supposed to be a holiday! This is also a suitable length of time for re-charging the boat's batteries and heating the domestic water. Cruising after dark is not permitted.

What about fuel, water and gas?
Water tanks hold between 400 and 1100 litres depending on the size of the boat, and these are full before you leave. Top up the water tanks every two or three days (cost around 2 euros in most areas). Diesel tanks hold between 160 and 300 litres and this is usually sufficient for at least a week's cruising. Gas is supplied from a gas bottle and we provide a reserve bottle as well.

Where can I moor?
Every village has its own moorings, often very extensive. There are usually also moorings above and below locks. Virtually all moorings are free of charge.

What about insurance of the boat?
You are liable for any damage to the boat and to third parties but only to the extent of the refundable security deposit paid on arrival. If however, you buy a non-refundable boat damage waiver on arrival you are exempted from liability for damage to the boat and its dinghy.
