| Friesland Boating has built and operated steel self drive houseboats
since 1982 from their base in Koudom in the Friesland region of the north
of the Netherlands.
This is a well kept rural area with many fascinating towns and cities,
all in a remarkable state of repair, and with great attention paid to preserving
the traditional architecture and materials. Cobblestoned quaysides and
gabled houses line the waterways.

although they are much wider. This style of boat was adopted to enable
the boats to cruise almost everywhere as they can pass under the lowest
bridges and have also a very shallow draught.
Their fleet of 22 boats are well maintained and well laid out, each with inside and outside steering positions. For beginning and end of season use they are all well insulated and have good heating systems. |
