| A boating holiday is like no other. It
takes you
to, and also far from, the popular tourist haunts deep into the
countryside.
As soon as you have cast off the boat is yours to take where you wish (as long as you bring it back of course). You will set out into a much slower world where local people still take the time to smile and chat. |
You will undoubtedly plan your days ahead,
but
be prepared to adapt your day to new discoveries. Try not to be in a
hurry
and allow plenty of time for the unexpected.
We can tell you of the local tourist attractions, but we are sure that you will make your own discoveries and memories - a bunch of wildflowers picked for the breakfast table - fresh produce from the local market - a picnic in the shade of an oak tree - a chat with other boaters and locals - fresh bread and croissants - kingfishers and herons.............. |
| There is motion but never any motion
sickness.
The movement of the boat is not at all disturbing - you can read, cook,
eat, take a shower, write, take a nap or whatever, while the boat is
travelling
along. Every window frames the countryside as it slowly passes by.
You will board your boat in the afternoon on your departure day. The base manager or an assistant will go over the boat with you and explain how everything works. After a trial run to learn how to handle the boat, you are ready to set off on your adventure. |
The boats are comfortable - with hot
water, showers,
toilets, heating, fully equipped galley, bedding including sheets,
*towels
and duvets. You need only supply your food. Bicycles can be hired from the base. Each region is different - with its own personality, its own history, its own climate and a special atmosphere reflected more intensely by the waterways. Come and discover them in a self drive boat. |
| Have a great cruise! |
